Private Room Charges

We have a number of different package options to choose from, which allows us to provide care that is right for you.

Unless you are already registered with Watford we are unable to accept any NHS out of area patients for the immediate future. If you would still like to deliver your baby at Watford General, you would need to become a fully private patient.

Private Patient Charges

• £2800 deposit.
• £1300 (normal delivery and up to 1 night's stay).
• £1700 (normal delivery and up to 2 nights' stay).
• £2100 (normal delivery and up to 3 nights' stay).
• £2500 (normal delivery and up to 4 nights' stay).
• £160 for a partner to stay the night.

There is no refund applicable if you are to have a caesarean section from the £2800 deposit, regardless of how long you stay in Knutsford Suite.

If you have a normal delivery you will be entitled to a partial refund from the initial £2800 deposit (as detailed above)

The above prices include: accommodation (meals, towels etc), theatre and delivery costs, drugs, dressings, outpatient scans, Level 2 Neonatal Unit costs, diagnostic tests.

The above charges are for West Hertfordshire Hospital NHS Trust services only and do not therefore include any charges for the consultant obstetrician's fees, and any anaesthetics charges will be charged as appropriate. They also do not include private telephone charges.

If you have medical insurance, your policy may cover you for a caesarean section if required on medical grounds. Please speak to your insurance provider directly.

All women, other than those with medical insurance cover, must pay £2,800 in advance to confirm your booking. All women other than those with medical insurance cover must pay in advance.

Room Only Patients

• £1750 deposit.
• £430 a night.
• £160 for partner to stay the night.
  The nightly patient charge of £430 will be taken from the deposit of £1,750 which would cover for 4 nights' stay. You will be entitled to a partial refund for the monies not used.
• The above charges are exclusive of Private telephone charges

For those patients (both private and room only) with private medical insurance, an authorisation code or full payment must be taken before you can be admitted to the Knutsford Suite.

All prices are subject to change, and all patients are required to make a payment of £1,750 to confirm your booking. All women other than those with medical insurance cover must pay in advance.

Profits from the Knutsford Suite will make a contribution towards improving NHS services for women and children at West Hertfordshire NHS Hospitals Trust.
